Altoona, PA (WJAC) — One employee of the Altoona Curve hasn’t let a disability get in the way of making an impact on gamedays.
Tom Crownover can be seen cleaning tables, taking out the trash and greeting Curve fans for the past 14 seasons.
Skills of Central PA helped Tom get the job that he says is a great fit and keeps him busy.
Those who work with Tom say his impact runs deeper than keeping the park clean.
“He always has a smile on his face. Always walking around saying hello to the people and is very kind to everybody. He brings a smile to my face even when I’m down and that means the world to me and he’ll always have a place here with the Curve and in my heart,” said Douglas Mattern, director of ballpark operations.
Tom says he’s excited to get this season started.
