Allegheny Co. woman killed in crash in Rockwood involving commercial vehicle

State police in Somerset have released new details about Friday's fatal crash along Water Level Road in Rockwood.

Troopers say a 44-year-old woman from McKeesport was the victim of the two-vehicle crash, which involved a commercial vehicle.

The exact identity of the victim and further details about what led to the crash has yet to be released.

Investigators say the crash occurred just before 11 a.m. Friday and resulted in the area near Water Level Road being closed for several hours.

Somerset County officials say the coroner was called to Water Level Road following a multi-vehicle crash near Rockwood Friday morning.

Officials are asking people to avoid the area of the 4200 block of Water Level Road.

They refer to the crash as a “large incident.”

According to PennDOT, both directions between Garrett Road/Main Street and Mud Pike Road are closed.
